Long COVID

Since 2020, Dr. Nguyen, in collaboration with the Institute for Allergic Inflammation and the Texas Allergy Group Clinical Research Unit, has been studying how allergies, mast cell diseases, and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) contribute to systemic inflammation. Research shows that persistent lung inflammation after COVID-19 infections may drive widespread inflammation throughout the body, causing long COVID symptoms that often resemble mast cell–related conditions. Standard medical tests frequently overlook this type of early inflammation, leaving patients without clear answers.

At our clinic, we evaluate inflammation sites, inflammatory load, and biomarkers, with careful attention to the risks of tolerance breaking and early autoimmunity. We also offer strategies to manage mast cell activation and reduce systemic symptoms affecting the lungs, gut, bladder, skin, joints, and the autonomic nervous system, where issues like anxiety, ADHD-like symptoms, palpitations, POTS, dizziness, and fatigue may arise.

Please inquire with Dr. Nguyen, the Texas Allergy Group Clinical Research Unit, and the Institute for Allergic Inflammation about your condition.
